Featured Artist: I WAYAN KOTIR

I Wayan Kotir grew up with his small family in Bentuyung Ubud, Bali. Before painting was a part of his life he was a tailor, until 1977. At which point he turned his attention to painting and since doing so has become the most popular artist in Bentuyung! Many tourists come to Bali looking especially for his masterful works of art. His work has been featured in Rudana Art Shop (most popular in Bali), Dewa Rai, Oka'S and many other famous art shops in Ubud. Successful profit didn't come for W. Kotir until his son returned home from working in Japan. It was at this point that with the help of his son he was able to build a small gallery in the rice fields. He continues to produce powerfully evocative art and lives with the support of his loving wife, son, and two grandchildren.
